The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been condoned by the immediate past National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, over the demise of his sister recently.
Tukur said yesterday that, “Nancy Jonathan Olei died at a time when her commitment to national duty and progress was most needed”.
Tukur, who is also ambassador-At-Large of Nigeria said the way Nancy related with Nigerians without ethnic or religious discrimination during her time portrayed her as a national figure.
Describing the death of Nancy Jonathan as a great loss to the entire nation, Tukur, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Prince Oliver Okpala, Tukur said that Nancy has “exited from this planet but her contribution to national unity and youth development will remain indelible and monumental.”
He said: “The was Nancy related with Nigerians without ethnic or religious discriminatory during her life time portrayed her as a national figure.”
Tukur urged the Jonathan family to bear the loss with fortitude, noting that it is God that give and take.
