From Ayodele Samuel, Lagos

A Lagos based human rights activist and Convener, Save Lagos Group(SLG),Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman has berated the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Northern Elders under the aegis of Northern Elders Forum(NEF) to stop attacking President Goodluck Jonathan over the 2015 general elections.

Sulaiman said President Jonathan should not be blamed for the country’s woes but past leaders, especially Chief Obasanjo should be blamed for the present problems facing the land.

He said the former president laid a bad precedent for the most of the problems ravaging the land presently.

The Rights’ activist also maintained that tackling various problems confronting the land should be the joint responsibility of every Nigerian not President Jonathan and those in government alone, insisting that most of the problems predated the President Jonathan’s era.

Sulaiman however cautioned the political and socio-cultural leaders to stop attacking the President on the pages of Newspapers when they have any score to settle with the President.

He stressed that Obasanjo could not exonerate himself from the national woes since his(Obasanjo) military days, insisting that Obasanjo laid a solid foundation for the problems confronting the nation.

“Chief Olusegun Obasanjo laid bad precedent for bad governance in the country. They include; flagrant disobedience of court judgments, imposition of candidates in Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and several others”.
