Abia community decries neglect

The Ndi Ebe Abam community, in the Arochukwu local government area of Abia state have decried the deliberate neglect of their community by the state government

In a press release made available to pressmen, they claimed that since the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria’s political life the community is yet to benefit from the dividends of democracy.

Bemoaning their they gave comparison of their state against a good number of states they claim have produced God-fearing and people-oriented Governors who have transformed their States to the admiration and envy of all.

Speaking through their spokesman, Hyacinth Ckuweuba, they contend that a trip to Akwa-Ibom, Lagos, Cross-Rivers, Bayelsa, Katsina, Jigawa, Enugu and Imo states, one will be amazed with the level of uncommon transformation cutting across all spheres of life.

They further posited, without mincing words, that these achievements are pointer to good governance and responsive governments and as such, one cannot but applaud the actions of the aforementioned Governors and their States having clearly shown commitment and determination to improve the lives of the down trodden.

Making reference to the untold hardship presently experienced by the community of over one thousand inhabitants, they reported that their community is cut off from the rest of the state as a result of the collapse of the link bridge over a month ago and that sadly, it is yet to receive Abia state Governments’ attention.

Wondering why the government has not deem it fit to come to the aid of the community, who have now resigned themselves to fate as it has become impossible to transport their agricultural products to the neighboring markets, they called on concerned Nigerians, organized groups, corporate organizations, NDDC, Federal Ministry of Works and the President to come to their aid.
