Honourable Obi Aguocha, representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, has rebuked his colleague, Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu, for his recent comments about taking over Abia State for the APC in 2027.
Aguocha expressed shock and disappointment at Kalu’s remarks, calling them “condescending, denigrating, and disrespectful.”
He criticized Kalu’s boastful claims and his repeated reference to himself as the number six in the country’s leadership hierarchy.
Aguocha reminded Kalu that his position as Deputy Speaker does not give him the authority to declare the seat of the governor of Abia State vacant.
He also pointed out that Kalu’s comments lacked introspection and reeked of recklessness, discernment, and a lack of humility.
Aguocha assured Kalu that Abia State will not be taken over by APC in 2027, as Governor Alex Otti has performed well and will be reelected.
He also warned Kalu that if he continues to make such comments, the Labour Party could declare his seat vacant as well.
Aguocha advised Kalu to focus on his legislative duties and promote inclusiveness, rather than engaging in “pugnacious instability.”
