Abia Varsity Abuja alumni set to elect new exco

The Abia State University Alumni Association, ABSUAA, Abuja Chapter will on Sunday 27 October 2019 elect a new set of officials to pilot the affairs of the Association.
According to a statement issued by the President, Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje, “Elections shall be held into all the offices of the Association as provided in its constitution/byelaws.
“All financial members of the association who are in good standing for at least 12 months, shall be eligible tovote and be voted for, and every such member is qualified to be elected into any position in the Association’s Executive committee.
A release issued by the branch President Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje – who’s handing over after completing the maximum two terms in office, indicates that the newly elected officers shall be inaugurated during the Association’s annual dinner in December, while formal handover of reports, materials, records and properties to the new Exco shall be done at the January meeting to be presided over by the new Exco.
The following positions are due to be contested for; President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Public relations Officers. Already, an Elections committee chaired by the immediate-past President of the Association Mr. Uzoma Nwosu, was inaugurated during the last meeting in accordance with the constitution, to conduct the elections.
