Ahmadu Bello University is determined to improve its distance learning programs through the use of digital technologies, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adamu Ahmed.
He spoke at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a strategic partnership between the university and DazzleView Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, China, on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Collaborating with tech companies, he said, could help address one of the biggest educational challenges in many developing countries—out-of-school children.
The Vice-Chancellor also mentioned that exploring technology-enabled solutions could open effective pathways to increase access to quality education for underserved and vulnerable groups.
“This is an area where partnerships between universities and technology firms can make a truly transformative impact,” he emphasized.
Ahmed described the partnership between ABU and DazzleView as a key opportunity to boost collaboration in educational technology, research, capacity building, and industry engagement.
“Together, we can connect knowledge with practical application, turn ideas into solutions, and ensure that technology acts as a powerful tool for inclusion and development,” he further emphasized.
He explained that the MoU on smart education, signed by ABU and DazzleView, lays the groundwork for a stronger, more productive relationship between the two organizations.
He expressed gratitude to DazzleView for their warm hospitality and ongoing support for the university.
Prof. Ahmed also thanked DazzleView Technology for donating a smart classroom in 2022, which has greatly improved teaching and learning at the university and demonstrated how technology can transform education.
He reiterated that ABU remains committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
Ahmed added that the university is also placing a strong focus on entrepreneurship, commercializing research outputs, and translating discoveries and innovations into practical solutions.
