The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), David Mark, has said the party remains confident of victory in the 2027 general elections despite the defection of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, and ex-Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Mark stated this on Wednesday while addressing members of the Forum of ADC former and serving federal lawmakers in Abuja.
The former Senate President admitted that the departure of the two political heavyweights would have an effect on the party but insisted that the development would only strengthen the ADC’s determination ahead of the next election cycle.
According to him, the opposition party would intensify efforts to reposition itself and present credible candidates capable of winning elections across the country in 2027.
“No doubt, the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso has its impact, but it will spur us to work harder,” Mark said.
He further expressed optimism that the current challenges facing the party would ultimately unite members and boost the ADC’s chances at the polls.
Obi and Kwankwaso recently dumped the ADC amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
