Super Eagles striker, Akor Adams, has departed the team’s camp following their 4-0 victory against Mozambique in the final 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

This was confirmed in an update posted on the team’s official X website.

The brief statement indicated that Adams had been granted permission to visit his mother, who was hospitalised.

It read: “Akor Adams has been granted permission to leave camp to go be with his mum, who was hospitalised yesterday.

“We’re sending prayers and strength to him and wishing his mum a quick recovery.”

Despite receiving the news before Nigeria took on the Mambas, Akor went ahead to start the game and scored the last goal.
