Benue State governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has urged Muslim faithful to show compassion to the less privileged.
The Governor gave the advice in his Sallah message to Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
The message which was signed by the Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, urged them to offer prayers on this solemn feast of sacrifice.
Alia also said the State is still drowning in the stagnant waters of insecurity and underdevelopment and encouraged the Muslims to pray and make selfless sacrifices and commitments for peace and development of the state and the entire nation.
“May God help you to understand that, the true meaning of life can only be found in solidarity, mutual aid and togetherness, and may He bless you with treasured moments of happiness and joy in this festive season and always”, Fr. Alia said.
