The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has commended the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike for providing fertilizers to the farmers in the Area.
Maikalangu, who gave the commendation while reading his political speech during the flag-off of fertilisers distribution at Apo town hall in Abuja, saying that fertilizers were given to the farmers free of charge.
He disclosed that about 800 bags of fertilisers were given to the government of Abuja Municipal Area Council by the FCT Administration to distribute to the farmers in the area, and warned against diversion of the products.
He said the fertilizers would be given to genuine farmers in order to boost food production in the area, as he pointed out that fertilizers were not for sale.
Maikalangu told the gathering that plans are underway to provide fertilizers for the farmers by the administration of the Area Council, so as to encourage the farmers in this year’s cropping season.
