The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the FCT, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has said that the administration of AMAC organized sports competition for the youths in Wuse Ward, Nyanya Ward and Gui Ward in order to fish out talents among them.
Maikalngu, who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen after the end of football competition between the youths of Wuse, Gui and Nyanya which took place at Maikalangu mini stadium on Sunday in Jikwoyi.
He said his administration would continue to carry the youths along in the area of sports competition, and urged them to remain committed to sporting activities.
He also pointed out that his administration would engage more youths in sports competition in the area, noting that sport is a means of livelihood.
At the end of the football competition, the AMAC boss dolled out N2m to 1st Position (Nyanya ward), N1m went to 2nd position (Wuse Ward) and N500,000 was given to 3rd position (Gui Ward).
However, the youths of Nyanya ward defeated the youths of Wuse ward by 7 to 6.
