Searchlight intelligence honours AIG Benedict Igwe

The Searchlight Intelligence Community, an operative arm of the Searchlight Initiative for Community Peace Advocacy and Rural Development in Nigeria in conjunction with Bauchi State police community policing, has honoured an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Benedict Igwe of Zone 7 Abuja.
The Director-General of the Searchlight initiative, Prince Arinloye Ogun Modede, who conferred the award on AIG Benedict Igwe which entitled “Exemplary Leadership” during a two-day workshop/sensitization on Peace Advocacy held on Saturday in Gwagwalada.
The Director-General said the ward was bestowed on AIG Igwe based on his contributions towards the progress of security in Abuja and Nigeria at large.
He described AIG Igwe as a committed Police Officer, adding that AIG was known to be dedicated to his duties always.
However, the representative of AIG Igwe at the occasion thanked the management of the searchlight initiative for the honour done to AIG Zone 7.
Presenting a paper at the workshop, the Sarkin Hausawa at Anguwan Dodo in Gwagwalada Area Council, Mohammed Sani Zamfara which tagged “The Role of Traditional Institution on National Security, Peace Advocacy and Conflict Prevention/Resolution, charged the traditional rulers to deem it necessary to checkmate the activates of their people.
He appealed to Nigerians to support the searchlight initiative to fight crimes in the society ranging from kidnapping, terrorism, armed robbery, vandalism, sectarian violence and communal genocide e.t.c.
Sani Zamfara, however, advised the security volunteers to conduct their activities within the laid down rules and regulations guiding their affairs, as well build a strong alliance network with local community interest groups and Nigerian police as well as other security agencies for the sake of peace in the country.
