The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority, NTDA, Ola Awakan, has joined the conveners of the Anambra State Unity Festival to announce a landmark event scheduled for September.
Speaking during the briefing, Mr. Awakan emphasized that the festival will play a key role in strengthening national unity while driving tourism and economic development in Anambra State.
The week-long festival, themed “Experience Anambra: Culture, Tourism, Unity, Enterprise,”will bring together stakeholders from across Nigeria and the diaspora to showcase the state’s rich heritage and investment opportunities.
ANUFEST 2026 is presented by JT PLAY HUB and the Creative Law & Intellectual Property Finance Forum, CLIFF, in collaboration with the Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism.
According to the organizers, the festival will feature cultural showcases, theatre performances, music concerts, sporting activities, business exhibitions, innovation hubs, and high-level networking sessions.
The Founder of CLIFF, Vitus Ifeanyi Mbah, disclosed that the event is scheduled to hold from September 21st to 27th, 2026.
“There will be tours to various destinations across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State that many people don’t know exist. Our aim is to expose them,” he said.
He added that the event is designed to boost tourism, empower young people, and foster greater community pride by drawing participants from all 21 LGAs of Anambra State, tourists, investors, government officials, and the general public.
The festival is also receiving strategic support from key national institutions including the National Theatre and the National Troupe of Nigeria, among others.
