The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has described his emergence as DTN@100 Politician of the Year as a tribute to resilience, service, and the enduring spirit of Nigeria.

Speaking after receiving the Chairman of Folio Communication and Publisher of Daily Times, Mr Fidelis Anosike in his office on Friday, Yilwatda said the honour was not about him alone, but about the millions of Nigerians who continue to believe in democratic governance despite challenges.

“I am elated by this recognition, but I receive it with humility.”

“It belongs to every APC member, every Nigerian working to build a stronger, more united country.

“This award reminds us that service and sacrifice are still valued,” the APC Chairman said.

The APC Chairman also used the occasion to commend the publishers of the DTN@100 edition for what he called “Folio’s resilience” in documenting Nigeria’s journey over a century.

He described the Nigeria Grand Book project as a bold effort to preserve the country’s history, struggles, and progress for future generations.

“The Nigeria Grand Book is more than a publication. It is our collective memory. It is proof that despite our trials, Nigeria’s story is one of courage, innovation and survival,” he stated.

“Folio has shown resilience in keeping faith with truth-telling and nation-building through journalism. That is something we must all be proud of.”

Yiltwada said the APC under his leadership remains committed to democratic ideals, internal democracy, and delivering good governance to Nigerians.

“As a party, we will continue to provide leadership that unites rather than divides. We will continue to put Nigerians first,” he added.

The DTN@100 Politician of the Year award is part of activities marking DTN@100, a centennial publication chronicling 100 years of Nigeria’s political, economic and social evolution through the Nigeria Grand Book.

Dignitaries, party chieftains, civil society leaders and members of the diplomatic corps attended the award ceremony in Abuja.
