Ahead of the forthcoming February elections into the Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to inaugurate a strong 137-member National Campaign Council.
In a statement on Sunday, the ruling party named Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrhaman of Kwara state as the Chairman of the council, while the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma will serve as the co-chair man 1, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe is the co-chair man 11 and Governor Umar Bago of Niger state will serve as co-chairman 111.
According to a statement signed by the National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Sulieman Argungu, the campaign team is to be inaugurated on Wednesday at the national secretariat of the party.
All the sitting governors, some serving and former members of the National Assembly were included in the campaign council which also has the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu as the secretary.
Many analysts believe that the outcome of the FCT elections will be a litmus test on the 2027 general elections.
