The All Progressives Congress (APC) said it had completed the submission of all its candidates for the 2027 general election on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal.
The announcement was made during the weekend by the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who described the exercise as a major milestone in the APC’s preparations for the polls.
According to him, the ruling party successfully uploaded a total of 471 candidates, comprising its presidential and vice-presidential ticket, 109 candidates for the Senate, and 360 candidates for the House of Representatives.
Yilwatda congratulated the party’s candidates, leaders and members on the successful completion of the nomination process, noting that the APC had achieved a 100 per cent upload of its candidates on the INEC portal.
He said the completion of the exercise allows the party to shift its attention to the next phase of its electoral strategy.
“With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilization and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls,” the APC chairman said.
The development comes as political parties race to meet INEC’s deadline for the submission of candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
The electoral commission recently extended the deadline by three days, giving parties until midnight on July 14 to complete the process.
