Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in conjunction with the World Investment Summit Group have concluded arrangements to boost the Renewed Hope agenda of the administration of President Bola Tinubu by hosting the 2026 World Investment Summit (WIS) in Abuja.
Addressing a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the Director General/Convener-General of the World Investment Summit, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew said the summit with the theme: Renewed Hope Transformation Agenda: Unlocking Capital, Accelerating Development, Sustaining Prosperity, is apt because
Nigeria is ready, open, and strategically positioned for global investment at an unprecedented scale.
The National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda was represented at the briefing by his Special Adviser Media, Mr. Abimbola Tooki.
Adeniyi said the Tinubu administration has taken courageous and necessary steps to reposition the Nigerian anchored on discipline, reform, and long-term sustainability and also delivering real Renewed Hope for the citizens.
“The President’s steadfast ambition to build a US$1 trillion economy by 2030 is anchored on Nigeria’s immense potential, abundant resources, and the urgent need to fast-track economic development to meet the aspirations of its growing population”.
He said that 127 Heads of State and government leaders from United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, China and Bangladesh are expected to attend, adding that the WIS 2026 will attract 8,000 participants, including 1,000 speakers, 34% being women and over 60% across the globe.
Others are from the Republic of Fiji, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the Republic of Togo, the UAE and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Similarly, 96 ministers and deputy ministers, 157 high-level representatives of international and regional organizations, and 700 private sector executives are all billed to be at the summit.
According to him, the summit is in
furtherance of President Bola Tinubu’s determined global drive to aggressively attract foreign direct investment into Nigeria. He added that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume will be visiting the Stock Exchange of some of the participating countries.
The Director General equally enumerated some of the benefits of the summit including; Increased Foreign Direct Investment, Job Creation, GDP Growth,
Knowledge Sharing, Networking Opportunities and Partnerships and Collaborations.
In his remarks, another contributor Staling Elis, advised Nigerians to vote for President Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election. He added that the country will be better with him because of the benefits of his reforms which he said are the best for the country.
