A former National Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alh Saleh Bayeri has been affirmed yesterday as the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) candidate to contest for Jos North /Bassa Federal Constituency.
The former secretary was confirmed together with some state assembly candidates for Jos North/North, Jos North West and Pengana Constituency; Abubakar Ateeku Yusuf, Inuwa Usman and Bulus Malaika Mafinja as the flag bearers of the party.
However In his speech during the confirmation, Bayeri said, “I am going into this contest on the call and desire of the people of my constituency to seek for the seat so as to enable me make an improvement to the area”
“There was general feeling in the entire constituency for equity and justice for the people of Bassa LGA who have waited for a period for 12 years now. We supposed to retake the seat from 2011 considering the fact that the people from Jos North LGA had been in the seat since 2003 and for equity and justice, courtesy demand the shift of the seat to Bassa LGA” , he added.
He further said,”We have lots of challenges being the largest constituency with the highest population in the state but is magnanimous in terms of infrastructural development. If elected I will use my experience toward addressing the problem”.
“I urge the people of the constituency to vote wisely and elect credible candidates during the forthcoming election”, while thanking party faithful for given them opportunity and pledged to be loyal to the party.
