Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to site a refinery in Akwa Ibom State if elected President next month.
Alhaji Atiku made the promise at the PDP presidential rally in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital on Monday.
The former Vice President also declared that restructuring of the country is no longer an issue of debate, stating that such would even result in more prosperity for Akwa Ibom.
He attributed every visible development in Akwa Ibom in the areas of education, health, industries and infrastructure to the PDP, with the assurance that the state would continue to witness progress as long as they remain in the PDP.
He urged them not to be deceived into voting for candidates outside of those of the PDP.
The PDP Presidential candidate maintained that the APC led government has failed to deliver in their campaign promises by making the economy worse, increasing unemployment and failing to secure lives and property of Nigerians.
Speaking at the rally, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus warned those planning to rig the general elections to be prepared to face the consequences of their action.
Secondus, while noting that Nigeria is in distress, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government of intimidating other arms of the government.
His words, “I want to warn those of our friends who are from this state, who believe that Akwa Ibom State election can be rigged, if you rig the election in Akwa Ibom, you rig your head. Our dear country is in distress and the whole world is aware,”.
The PDP National Chairman said no one could play God, and warned anyone who wants to do that to learn from history.
“When you get to the point where you have to play God, God will bring you down,” he noted.
Secondus lamented that Nigeria is at a crossroads and condemned the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by the Federal Government.
He claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari has no regard on the Nigerian constitution.
He called on them to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whom he said, would revamp the economy, create jobs and secure the country.
