Australian Secretary commissions Eye clinic in Bwari

The Australian first Assistant Secretary Department of foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Mathew Neuhaus, has commissioned and upgraded eye clinic in Bwari General Hospital in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Neuhaus reiterated the commitment of Australian government to improve on the existing bilateral relations between the two countries more especially in the education sector.
He noted that the project was done with the support from direct aid programme from the government of the commonwealth of Australia aimed at treating eye ailments such as cataract and sight related problems.
He revealed the readiness of Australian government in the area of sponsoring Nigerians to study abroad just as he commended the medical director of the hospital, Dr. Osayende Osagie for doing the Australian Alumni Association of Nigeria proud.
The FCT Secretary of health and human services Secretariat, Barrister Amanda Pam tasked the management of the hospital to sustain the good legacies it achieved in emerging first in the last two years leading FCT general hospitals in service delivery.
Represented by the head of medical services, Dr. Abdullahi Muhammed, noted that the hospital had now joined the league of few general hospitals in providing secondary and tertiary treatment of eye ailments in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Medical Director Dr. Osayende Osagie commended Australian government for giving necessary assistance to the growth and development of the hospital just as he assured the donor that his leadership would ensure the equipment was utilised.
