Kaduna State Police Command has raised alarm over new techniques being used by kidnappers and bandits in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige gave the warning while parading suspects for kidnapping and culpable homicide in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, “Gone were the era when kidnappers are seen as coming from the bush or forest to pick their victims. Now it is the neighbours, friends and associates that are masterminds of the crimes.”
The PPRO said from the last four kidnapping incidents in the state, it was discovered that the perpretrators are either neighbours or friends of the family of the victims.
ASP Jalige, therefore called on parents and guardians to ensure they know who their children and wards associate with.
