Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an expatriate, a Civil Engineer with Heartland Construction Company Limited, near Benin Ahor bypass in Edo State.
The State Commissioner of police, Mr. Phillip Ogbadu who revealed this at the Police headquarters on Wednesday in Benin City, said the driver of the vehicle was shot dead by the hoodlums immediately.
The police boss said the expatriate with his driver in company of two policemen who are not from the State Police Command were on a transit when the attack occurred on Tuesday.
He stated that the two policemen attached to the expatriate who had engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle were overpowered before the hoodlums took the expatriate away to unknown destination.
Ogbadu while assuring that the expatriate would be released unhurt, clarified that the security personnel involved in the attack, neither lost their lives nor their riffles.
