Bandits kill traditional ruler, his 4 children in Zaria – Family source

Suspected armed bandits have killed a traditional ruler, the Ardon Birni and Kewaye of Zazzau, Alhaji Shuaibu Mohammed and his four children when they invaded his residence at Dorayi in Zaria Local Government.
A family source said the bandits numbering about five invaded the residence on Saturday Night at about 10pm.
The wife of the deceased, Malama Halima Shuaibu told newsmen that “the Ardo was brought out of his bedroom and shot twice in his head, and he died instantly.
She further explained that “ the bandits went from room to room in the compound and killed her four children who are married with children.
The children are Adamu Shuaibu, Musa Shuaibu, Abubakar Shuaibu and Ibrahim Haruna.
She said, after attacking the compound, the bandits also rustled over 100 cows.
Also narrating the ugly incident, the only survivor of the attack among the Ardo’s children, Abdurrahman Shuaibu said the bandits shot two other people on their way out of the village.
However, the Kaduna State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP. Muhammad Jalige said he was yet to get the details of the incident from the DPO Zaria City as at the time of filing this report.
Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral prayers yesterday (Sunday) at about 11. 00 am.
