Bauchi 2015: Central or Northern Senatorial District must produce governor, says politician

Date:

From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

The Chairman of the Bauchi State Local Government Pension Board, Alhaji Danladi Abubakar, has said that he would be the last person to support the gubernatorial candidature of any politician from Bauchi South ahead of the 2015 elections.

The Board chairman explained that by 2015, Bauchi South would have ruled the state for 16 consecutive years, and therefore stressed the need for the leadership to rotate to either Central or North Senatorial district in the interest of justice, equity and fair-play.

According to him, should Bauchi South continue to hold onto the leadership of the state grabbing it again in 2015, the equation imbalance would have been heavily loaded onto the central and north districts which, he noted, is detrimental to the nascent democracy.

Abubakar in a chat with newsmen in Bauchi yesterday described as ridiculous, political suicide and lopsided chess game for the Bauchi south to insist on holding onto the leadership of the state in 2015 after Mu’azu and Yuguda, both from the same senatorial district, have consecutively ruled for 16 years.

The Board Chairman explained that based on political expediencies, spirit of give and take, and maturity, 2015 ought to be the turn of Bauchi Central or North district to produce the governor of the state.

The chairman then advised those politicians from the Southern Senatorial District of the state to drop their ambition in the interest of justice and fairpaly.
