Bauchi govt moves to end illegal dumping of refuse in streets

Bauchi State government as said that, it will take measures to tackle and stop illegal dumping of refuse in streets of the state.
The State Commissioner of Environment and Housing, Honorable Hamisu Muazu Shira disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi.
Shira explained that, the measures became necessary due to the increased illegal dumping of refuse on streets.
He tasked citizens of the state to use the waste dumping designated areas to dump their waste as against dumping them on streets.
“ We are appealing to the indigenes and residents of Bauchi state to as a matter of urgency desist from bringing their waste and dumping it on our streets, we can’t allow this to continue.
“ The administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Sen. Bala A. Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi is committed to keep the state clean beneficial to all of us.”
The Commissioner enjoined community and religious leaders to consider as part of their corporate social responsibility assisting government to achieve its set objectives of keeping the state clean and healthy for all.
Shira observed that, the need for regular environmental sanitation cannot be over emphasized especially at this critical period of the outbreak of coronovirus disease.
