The Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aliyu Usman Tilde has sacked the principal along with two storekeepers of the Hasan Usman Katsina Unity College for under-feeding students of the school.
Tilde in a press statement issued to journalists in Bauchi yesterday, said the affected officers were found serving the food of 350 students to over 1200 students last weekend while government has provided sufficient food items to all its 35 boarding schools before the inception of the school.
According to the statement, a new principal has been appointed by the Ministry for the Unity School which draws students from all 19 Northern states.
The Commissioner in the statement said a robust high-tech arrangement for monitoring of student meals along with designated resident food police will soon be deployed to all baording secondary schools in the state, insisting that the era of starving boarding students will become history in the state.
The statement however, said Hamza Isah Dakusni has been appointed as the principal of the GHUKUC Bauchi, Umar Inuwa, Principal GDSS R/Zayam, Bashir Aliyu Adamu, Principal GDSS Tilden Fulani, Shamsuddeen Yunusa, as V.P. 1(Admin) GHUKUC Bauchi while
Nehemiah Joel was appointed as V.P II (Academic) GDSS R/Zayam.
Others appointed are Muhammed Abba Aminu from GDSS Dewu to GDSS Gyamzo and Yakubu Sa’ad Tilde as Subject Inspector for GDSS Rimin Zayam.
The statement indicated that all the affected schools are requested to take note and all handing over formalities should be completed within a week while each officer report for duty should be communicated to the ministry.
