The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi has pledged to provide additional infrastructure for a more conducive academic environment before the end of his tenure.
Dr. Dzukogi made the declaration during his tour of the various projects initiated by his administration on campus in Bida.
He said his administration would not relent in his commitment until the polytechnic becomes the number one polytechnic in Nigeria before the expiration of his tenure in May, 2023.
According to him, “the recent ranking of the Federal Polytechnic Bida by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as the 5th best polytechnic in the country from the previous 12th position was due to recent developments and reforms put in place by his administration, adding that “the Polytechnic is not contented with its current 5th position, and must strive to attain the 1st position at all legal costs.”
Dzukogi further reiterated his administration determination to consolidate on its moderate achievements in the areas of infrastructure, staff development and training, as well as staff and students welfare, saying “this administration has since surpassed the ones before it in terms of programs introduction and beneficial infrastructure records.
“We will consolidate on our achievements as we try to bring in more programmes on board. There is an expansion project going on now and several things that we did not have in this school before such as a Multipurpose Laboratory Complex, a CBT Centre, blocks of quality class rooms and lecture halls are now available to us. These are some of our treasured legacies. We will definitely not cease doing things that will develop the Polytechnic and by the time we are done with this position in 2023, in sha Allah, things will certainly not be the same after eight years,” he further remarked.
