
Kaduna State and the United Kingdom have commenced discussions on new areas of collaboration aimed at accelerating economic growth, creating opportunities for citizens, and strengthening resilience to emerging challenges, Governor Uba Sani has disclosed.
The Governor made this known after receiving the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Development and Africa, Baroness Jenny Chapman, and her delegation, including Cynthia Rowe, on a courtesy visit to Kaduna.
Governor Uba Sani described the visit as a significant milestone in the longstanding relationship between Kaduna State and the United Kingdom, noting that the minister’s decision to make Kaduna her first destination in Nigeria reflects growing international confidence in the state’s development trajectory and reform agenda.
According to the Governor, discussions during the meeting provided an opportunity to review the impact of years of collaboration between Kaduna State and the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of institutional strengthening, governance reforms, and sustainable development initiatives that have positively affected the lives of citizens.
He explained that both sides also explored fresh avenues for partnership designed to stimulate economic growth, unlock opportunities for young people and entrepreneurs, enhance service delivery, and build greater resilience against emerging social and economic challenges.
Governor Uba Sani expressed appreciation to the United Kingdom for its consistent support to Kaduna State over the years, describing the partnership as one that has contributed immensely to strengthening public institutions and improving governance outcomes.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining productive partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to the people of Kaduna State, while emphasizing the need to consolidate the gains of previous interventions and pursue innovative approaches to future cooperation.
He expressed optimism that the outcomes of the engagement would further deepen relations between Kaduna State and the United Kingdom, opening new pathways for inclusive growth, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.
