Breaking: Soldiers injured as terrorists ambush Kebbi schoolgirls rescue team

Date:

Many Nigerian soldiers sustained injuries after terrorists launched a surprise attack on a troop deployment tasked with rescuing the schoolgirls abducted in Kebbi State.
The ambush occurred less than 24 hours after the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, directed operatives of Operation Fasan Yamma to go “all out” in the mission to track down the bandits responsible for the abduction of students from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga.

“You must continue day and night fighting. We must find these children,” Shaibu has ordered.

He further instructed commanders to leverage intelligence for intelligence-based operations, emphasizing: “Once you receive information on something like this, act professionally and decisively. This is not just about our image; it is about doing our job properly.”

In compliance, the soldiers mobilized for the rescue mission but were ambushed by terrorists.

Very Nigerian reports that several injured soldiers were seen lying helplessly without immediate medical attention.

One of the victims was heard speaking in Hausa language: “Musa has a bullet lodged in his leg. His condition is very bad.”

The troops’ operational vehicle was also riddled with bullet holes during the attack.
