Breaking: Sultan Declares Monday as First Day of Dulhijja

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Monday, 18th May 2026, as the first day of Zulhijja 1447AH.
This is  contained in a press statement signed by Wazirin Sokoto and the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, issued in Sokoto on Sunday.
Impliedly, the Eid-el-Kabir will be celebrated in Nigeria on Wednesday, 10th Zulhijja, equivalent to May 27, 2026.
