Buhari visits Adamawa today, opens anti-corruption summit

All arrangements have been concluded to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari to a one day visit to Adamawa state today.
While in the state, General Buhari is scheduled to declare open the Adamawa State Anti-Corruption Summit, with the theme: “Performance Based, Transparency, Accountability and Social Value”.
The state Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Summit Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Martins Babale told newsmen in Yola yesterday that Alhaji Ahmad Joda will chair the summit.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barrister Boss Mustapha, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and the Acting Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Professor Bolajo Olusasanoye would be lead discussants at the summit.
According to the Deputy Governor, the Anti-Corruption Summit is historic to both Adamawa State Government and the country at large as it is a proof and an indication that the anti-corruption drive of President Buhari which has received wide acclaims in the world is equally rooted at the grassroots.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa state Police Command has announced temporary restrictions of vehicular movement in the major streets of the state capital due the presidential visit.
The development was contained in a press release signed by the command’s spokesman, S.P Othman Abubakar saying “Motorists, tricycles (Keke Napep) and Wheelbarrows along these designated routes as from Faro junction to PZ round about(Maidoki),PZ round about (Maidoki) to Police round about to Lamido’s palace and Lamido’s palace via 80 Unit to Government Hoouse.”
According to the statement, the public are warned to adhere to the directive as the police will clamp down on defaulters.
