The chairman of the Kuje area council, of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Ishaku Shaban Tete, has charged about 1000 decampees from the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the ten wards in council to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to contribute their quota to the developmental strides and peace in the area.
Tete, who gave this charge in an interview with newsmen, after he received the decampees at the weekend in Kuje, said that more people would abandon APC for PDP, in Kuje.
He said that people decamped to PDP in the area due to his open door administration, pointing out that his leadership will carry the decampees along in the scheme of things in the council.
He therefore assured that his administration would continue to fulfill the electioneering campaign promises made to the people of the area, calling on them to join hands with him to move the council to the next level.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the PDP in Kuje, Hon. Abraham Yohanna, expressed joy over the decision being taken by the decampees to join the adjudged Africa’s biggest party.
Yohanna noted that with the caliber of people that joined the ruling party, it would further pave way for unity, peace, as well as development in the council.
Responding on behalf of the decampees, Mr. Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, said he would mobilize more people in the area to join PDP fold.
He explained that he and others decamped to PDP in order to contribute meaningfully to development and progress of the council.
Sabo, therefore assured the party’s leadership that they would not hesitate to join hands with the present administration of the council, so as to fast-track development in the area.
