From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

There was mass wedding of a sort as a couple, Mr. Cleopas Adelah, a business tycoon and solar light installation specialist, and his wife, Tabitha Adelah sponsored 30 couples for wedding, as part of their 10-year wedding anniversary celebration.
It was gathered that the mass wedding which took place at Saint Gabriel’s Parish, Tsavnum in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, was officiated by the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Most Reverend Isaac Duku.
Also, the newly wedded couples were later hosted to a reception organized in their honour by the Adelah family.
While speaking to journalists, Mr. Adelah said, their decision to sponsor other couples to receive the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic church was borne out of their desire to bring more people closer to God to also receive the blessings they have received in the past 10 years of his marriage.
He urged the couples to imbibe the spirit of love, understanding, patience and tolerance in order to have a peaceful marriage.
He also pledged support towards the renovation of the church, appreciated God for His goodness and mercy upon his family and promised to sustain his support for the growth and development of the church.
“God’s goodness in our lives and the sweetness of marriage cannot be quantified. What we have done today is just to return to God for thanksgiving and also, give back to the society.
“We will continue to support the newly wedded couples and the church to grow”, Adelah said.
Earlier during the Mass, Most Revd. Isaac Dugu in his homily, advised the couples to be faithful to each other and always place God first above any other thing for them to have a fruitful marriage.
Dugu appreciated Mr. and Mrs. Adelah for their continued support to the church particularly for sponsoring couples to receive the sacrament of matrimony and prayed for God’s blessing, guidance, mercy and protection upon them and the Christian community of St. Gabriel’s Parish Tsavnum.
