Court remands house wife for pouring hot water on neighbour

A Chief Magistrate Court No1 sitting at Chediya GRA Zaria has remanded a housewife, Nnennaya Edmond in prison custody until 15th October 2019 for continuation of hearing on a case of criminal force and causing hurt contrary to section 224,216 CPC Kaduna State law 2017.
Nnennaya Edmond is standing trial on causing serious injuries to one Gloria Cyril and her 10 months old baby, Bright Cyril after pouring hot water on them.
The incident was said to have occurred on Tuesday 10th September 2019 at about 1.00 pm when one Mary Ejoemah who resides behind ECWA Church Wusasa, Zaria reported to Danmagaji Divisional Police Headquarters that at about 8.00pm Nnennaya Edmond without provocation, poured hot water on her daughter.
After reading the FIR to the accused, by the Prosecutor, Inspector Mannir Nasir, the defendant denied committing the offence.
The prosecutor informed the court that police have completed their investigation and applied for the date to commence hearing.
Nnennaya was ordered by the court to be remanded in the prison custody until 15th October 2019 for the commencement of hearing.
Presently the victims are receiving treatment at St. Lukes Anglican Hospital Wusasa.
