Court remands man for alleged conspiracy

Date:

A Senior Magistrates’ court, in Mararaba, has remanded one Ibrahim Yahaya, 29, of Aku village, in prison custody.

He is being charged with conspiracy and cheating.

Senior Magistrate Jeremiah Danladi ordered the remand to allow the police continue their investigations and also arrest his accomplices.

The prosecutor, Hemen Donald, told the court that one Chijioke Odou of KAPDA Market Mararaba, reported the matter at the ‘A’ Division Police Station, Mararaba, on June 4.

Donald said the accused and one Adamu, of no fixed address (now at large), conspired and collected N100, 000 from the complainant under a false pretence.

He said the accused claimed to be the owners of shop No.4 located at block 10 Phase 2 KAPDA Market, Mararaba, and deceived the complainant by collecting his money.
