The Association of Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization, and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has called on relevant authorities to urgently repair malfunctioning TB scanners in health facilities and address stockouts of essential malaria commodities in Taraba State.
Speaking during an advocacy visit to Drug Resistance Office and the Primary Health Care Development Agency in Jalingo, ACOMIN State Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Mohammed Danburam, said the organization is currently implementing interventions in 18 health facilities across nine local government areas of the state.
Danburam commended the Primary Health Care Development Agency for its successes in malaria elimination but noted that some facilities were still grappling with supply chain challenges.
“We want to report that out of 18 health facilities in 9 local government areas, we are covering, only three are faced with challenges of supply chain. These include stockouts of routine Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) at Rufu PHC, and stockouts of ACT 1,2,3 and ITT at Kashimbilla PHC in Takum and Bantaje in Wukari LGAs,” he said.
