The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), and the leadership of Conference of Civil Society for peace, Security and National Development, has said that some politicians are involved in the escàlating insecurity situation in parts of the country .
The President NYCN, Amb. Solomon Adodo stated this yesterday during the council in conjunction with other peace and security CSOs world press conference in Abuja in response to growing security concerns in Nigeria.
” We Address you with a heavy heart yet an unwavering resolved to speak on one the most critical challenges confronting our beloved Nation, the alarming rise in insecurity facing us”.
“You will observe thàt cases of insecurity have been on the rise across our communities, fear and uncertainty have taken root, families mourn their loved ones, businesses suffer and our collective peace is under siege”.
“What makes this situation even more distressing is the growing suspicion that some unscrupulous politicians are fuelling this crises for their own selfish political gains, especially as we approach the 2027 elections”
” Let me State unequivocally, Insecurity must never be weaponized for political ambition, yet credible intelligence and troubling report suggest that some politicians are actively sponsoring violence arming criminal bandits”.
“We must demand accountability, those found complicit in these heinous act must face the full wrath of tthe law . As a people we must recognize and commend the bravery and sacrifice of our armed forces.
” We profoundly commend the commitment of the chief of defense staff Lt. Gen. Christopher Musa and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede under their command our Armed forces have made significant strides in dismantling Terrorist networks
