Our reporter gathered that the airport holds significant potential for boosting agricultural exports by facilitating the transport of crops like millet, sesame, and gum Arabic to international markets.
Officials at the airport said it will enhance the income of farmers and contribute to regional food security.
Additionally, it is expected to attract investments in logistics, warehousing, and supply chain industries, creating new avenues for employment and reducing poverty.
The airport’s operations will support regional and global trade, enabling the import and export of goods, fostering the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and enhancing economic activities in Yobe State.
It will also serve as a gateway for tourism, connecting the state’s cultural and historical sites to a wider audience, thus promoting its rich heritage.
In addition to commercial benefits, the Cargo offers strategic advantages for humanitarian and disaster response in a region prone to security and climatic challenges.
