Dankwambo set to commission Media centre in Gombe

Gombe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo said modalities has been put in place for his administration to commission a multi millionaire Media centre in order to encourage working Journalists to carry out their legitimate functions effectively in Gombe state.

Governor Dankwambo who made the disclosure yesterday in Gombe, while interacting with the media also pledged support to partner with members of the Press to enable them have sense of belonging in the society which according to him, would help to boost the morale of practicing Journalists in the state.

He, however, appealed to the media to always cross check their reportage before going to press, noting that it is the responsibility of the media to inform, educate and entertain the public in order to enlighten them on the current happening in the society.

Speaking further, the governor commended the media for their efforts and immense contribution for the development of the nation, stressing that the Press is the engine room of any society.

According to him, his administration would continue to have a working relationship with the media to ensure that government can achieve its desired goal for the benefit of the people in the state.

He also said government had strategies a plan to build a Institute of Journalism in order to enhance the knowledge of working Journalists in the state to enable them train on how to go about their lawful businesses however, its is government responsibility to work tirelessly with the media to ensure that they achieve its mandate.

It was gathered that the meeting with the governor and the media was aimed at looking at the security challenges in the state and how to curb the menace in order to bring a lasting solution of the problem, among those that attended the meeting were the governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, Deputy governor Thaanda Jason Rubainu, Gombe state ,Commissioner of Police Mr. Kudu Nma, Chief of staff Government House,Alhaji Ahmed Yayari and members of the media.
