A primary school teacher in Kano State, Abubakar Musa, has donated N30,000 from his salary to Governor Abba Yusuf in what officials described as an emotional and symbolic show of appreciation.
Musa said the donation was a personal gesture to commend the governor’s efforts at improving the education sector in the state.
According to a statement from the Government House, the governor received the donation with visible emotion, shedding tears as he expressed gratitude for what he called a humbling act of sacrifice.
Members of the State Executive Council were said to have risen in a standing ovation to honour the teacher’s show of support for the administration.
The gesture has since drawn attention across the state, with many describing it as a rare demonstration of patriotism and public endorsement of government policies.
According to the statement,Musa’s action reflects growing recognition of recent reforms in the education sector under the Yusuf administration, particularly efforts aimed at improving welfare and infrastructure.
Governor Yusuf had, during his campaign, pledged to address long-standing challenges in the sector, including unpaid entitlements and poor learning conditions.
