From Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto
Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on Media and Publicity, has said the current deployment of ultramodern security equipment and the use of non-kinetic measures by the Federal Government have resulted in the massive reduction of recurring security challenges across Nigeria.
Dingyadi, a veteran journalist, politician, and public affairs commentator, said this in a statement in Sokoto on Monday.
He noted that insecurity remains a source of serious concern to the Federal Government and other critical stakeholders.
According to him, the Federal Government has been doing its best to reverse the trend of insecurity in *Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto States*, which constitute the epicentre of banditry in the country.
The SSA added that the Federal Government, state governors, and various security agencies are making concerted efforts to safeguard the lives and property of law-abiding citizens.
Dingyadi further noted that although the menace has persisted, authorities at all levels of government have not relented in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other sundry crimes across the nation.
While deploring the activities of criminal elements across the country, he expressed optimism that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He appealed to Nigerians for sustained patience and fervent prayers, and lamented the activities of informants, which he said were aggravating the security situation.
Dingyadi also decried the politicization of security challenges and the apparent lack of effective synergy among security agencies.
The SSA commended the giant strides of the *Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle*, in facilitating ongoing efforts to curb insecurity across Nigeria.
He recalled that as a one-term Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Matawalle worked strenuously to secure the lives and property of the people.
He added: “Even now, Matawalle is unwaveringly committed to working with the Minister of Defence to stem the tide of insecurity. He never sleeps, he never gets tired, and he is working round the clock to make the lives of Nigerians more secure and fully protected.”
Dingyadi further appealed for support and political goodwill from both opposition and Nigerians towards encouraging the nation’s patriotic and gallant troops in fighting insurgency and other criminal elements in the society.
He also urged the Governors face the issues of insecurity and the provision of basic social services to the citizens with greater commitment to duty, good governance and fairness.
The top-notch media Aide further commended the efforts of the APC National Working Committee under the leadership of Prof. Nentawe in providing enabling environment of true leadership, respect and reconciliation to all party members towards sustaining discipline, cohesion and unity in the party despite some challenges after Congresses.
