Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani has opined that Digital technology are tool and resource for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to thrive in the digital age, empowering them to compete globally and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
He expressed this during the launching of a digital website called Enterprise Web Project, by YERYMS Ltd in Kaduna.
According to him, the world is moving fast, and Nigerians especially the business community cannot be left behind, saying the launching of the “Enterprise Web Project” will enhance the performance of the MSMEs
The Governor, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs Patience Fakai, said the project is miles stone in the light of his administration’s efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth in Kaduna State.
The “Enterprise Web Project,” Gov Sani stressed, is designed to bridge the digital divide and ensure that MSMEs in Kaduna State have access to the latest technology and innovations.
He explained that this will not only enhance their productivity and competitiveness but also create new opportunities for job creation and wealth generation.
“As we launch this project, I would like to highlight key initiatives this government has undertaken to support MSMEs in Kaduna State as some of enumerating business premises.
“We have begun enumerating business premises in the state to create a comprehensive and up-to-date database of all businesses operating in Kaduna State.
“ This will not only help our planning purposes, but will also help us to reach actual businesses on the ground in the event of any support available to them by way of loans and grants.
“ We also have the Smart City Project which involves securing our cities to make them safe and friendly to businesses and investors.
“To this end, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei Technologies company, Nigeria Limited to actualize the Smart City Project in Kaduna State.
“Digital Governance:We have been commended for embracing the use of digital technology in governance, making Kaduna State a model for digital governance in Nigeria.
“I would like to commend the management and staff of YERYMS Ltd for their hard work and dedication to making this project a reality.
“I also appreciate the support and partnership of various stakeholders, including the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations, and the overall effort of the State Government to make Kaduna State the most business-friendly space in Nigeria.
“In conclusion, I urge all MSMEs in Kaduna State to take advantage of this initiative and leverage the opportunities provided by the “Enterprise Web Project”, he stated.
