‘Don’t lose hope’, Sokoto ADC governorship candidate urges Nigerians

The Sokoto State Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya,  has urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the current economic hardship and insecurity confronting the nation.

In his Eid-el-Kabir message, Dan’iya said Nigeria needs collective prayers, unity, and responsible leadership to overcome the present challenges, which the ADC is strategically positioned to provide.

Dan’iya, who holds the traditional title of Walin Sokoto, extended warm felicitations to the people of Sokoto State, Nigerians, and the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

In the Sallah message issued through his Press Secretary, Aminu Abdullahi, the ADC governorship candidate urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, patience, love, and compassion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

He said that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir remain vital in promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and national development.

Dan’iya also called on Sokoto state pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to pray for pray for lasting peace, improved security, economic stability, and progress for the country at a time many Nigerians are facing difficult living conditions.

Furthermore, Dan’iya encouraged eligible Nigerians, particularly youths and first-time voters, who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so between now and July 10, 2026.

He said that possession of a PVC empowers citizens to actively participate in national elections and contribute towards shaping the future leadership and governance of the country.

“Citizens must not sit back and complain without participating in the democratic process. Those without PVCs will be unable to exercise their civic rights during the 2027 elections.”

Dan’iya wished the people of Sokoto State and Nigerians a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration and prayed for Allah’s continued mercy, guidance, and protection upon the nation.
