The Yoruba community in the northern states and Abuja have expressed great concern on the situation of insecurity across the country and urged the Federal Government to urgently find a lasting solution to avoid a state of anarchy.

Rising from an emergency meeting in Kaduna on Friday, the community called on all citizens of the country to pray fervently to get an end to the series of calamity so that the nation may not break as predicted by the enemies of a united Nigeria.

A communiqué signed by its leader, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo, noted with regret that the federal government has treated the situation with levity hence the deteriorating security situation every now and then without anyone knowing where the nation is moving to.

According to the communiqué, President Jonathan and his party, the (PDP) should stop playing politics with the lives of the citizens, but find a way out from this menace and the senseless killings and abduction of innocent people.

The community noted with regret that President Jonathan has allowed himself to be pushed around by these with him at the corridors of power, who are mere scavengers that have refused to tell him the truth and the way forward. “We, therefore, call on Mr. President to be weary of the fifth columnists that have surrounded him for personal gains”, the communiqué added.

The communiqué further adviced the president to borrow a leaf from other leaders who ruled before him in an atmosphere devoid of insecurity, and call those past leaders such as Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Shagari, Yakubu Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Alex Ekueme, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and CAN President, to sit on a round table to find solutions to the current insecurity ravaging the entire nation.
