Dr. Michael Attah, widely known as “Soviet,” has raised serious concerns about the rapid rise of Pastor Abel Damina in Akwa Ibom’s religious community.
In a recent statement, Dr. Attah questioned the authenticity of Damina’s ministry and the foundation on which it was built, expressing doubts about his spiritual integrity.
Reflecting on their past, Dr. Attah recounted his first encounter with Damina in the early 1990s. At that time, Damina was a struggling young minister, seeking acceptance within the local church community. According to Dr. Attah, prominent religious leaders like Pastor Attai Ibah of Life Tabernacle initially rejected Damina’s teachings, deeming them controversial and unfit for their congregations.
Despite these early setbacks, Damina went on to establish the Friday Fire Fellowship (FFF), which eventually evolved into the International Charismatic Ministers Association (ICMA) and later Power Chapel International. Dr. Attah, however, remains skeptical of this rise, openly questioning the legitimacy of Damina’s spiritual journey. “Abel Damina, you’ve never been a Christian. Your foundation is wrong,” he stated bluntly.
Dr. Attah also accused Damina of heretical teachings driven by personal gain and noted that many of Damina’s early supporters have since distanced themselves from him. He further referenced serious allegations of moral misconduct against Damina, including claims of inappropriate relationships that have not been publicly addressed.
