The Principal of Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) Dukpa in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Hajiya Mariya Yusuf Bala, has appealed to corporate organizations, individuals, government and well-wishers to provide a bus in the school for the sake of the students.
She made this appeal while reading her speech during the 11th Inter-house-sports competition tagged; “Fostering Development Through Inter-house-sports” held at the school premises on Thursday.
According to her, games as an essential part of the school curricular activities provided for physical well-being of the students, noting that sports competition was an avenue for talent discovery among the students.
She said: “The Importance of Inter house-sports competition cannot be overemphasized as it provides students with healthy competition and the spirit of sportsmanship”
She expressed appreciation to the FCT Education Secretariat as well as the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) for creating an enabling environment in our schools.
Bala, therefore, thanked the management of the school, staff and those who contributed to the victories of Inter-house sports competition.
At the end of the Inter-house-sports competition the Blue House took 1st position, the 2nd position went to Green House and the Pink House maintained the 3rd position.
