From Yusha’u Alhassan Jalingo

Following the directive of the Federal Government that all schools
should resume on Monday, private schools in Jalingo Taraba State
capital have commenced academic activities with exception of public
schools.
Our reporter, who visited some private schools in the state, reports that
at some private primary and secondary schools, students and pupils
were observing their normal academic activates while at the Government
schools activities were yet to commence.
When contacted, the state chairman of National proprietor of private
Schools, Taraba state Chapter, Garba Shamaki said private schools in the state have commenced academic activities.
He called on the state committee on Ebola to carry private schools
along in the implementation of measures to curb the diseases.
Commenting on the resumption, Bursar of Grace Junior academic Jalingo Gabriel Olayekan said the school had provided thermometers for testing the temperature of students and hand sanitizers as measures against Ebola virus.
Olayekan explained that the school management has trained its staff on
how to use the thermometer, adding that anyone who enters the school
must be tested and those with high temperature would be referred for
proper attention.
