The Edo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned its expelled former chairman, Kennedy Odion, to stop presenting himself as a representative of the party, insisting that he no longer has the authority to speak or act on its behalf.
The warning was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the state chairman of the party, Tony Alile.
According to Alile, Odion was expelled following disciplinary proceedings concluded during the ADC National Convention held in Abuja on April 14, 2026, while the tenure of the state executive committee under which he served expired on May 19, 2026.
The party maintained that Odion is no longer recognized as either a member or an official of the ADC, alleging that he has continued to issue statements and hold meetings in the party’s name despite his expulsion.
Alile described the alleged actions as unauthorized and misleading, adding that there had also been previous incidents involving the unauthorized use of party facilities and circulation of party materials, which he said were being handled through appropriate channels.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to building a strong democratic opposition in Edo State and across the country, insisting that the ADC remains united and focused on providing credible leadership.
Reacting to the allegations, Odion rejected the party’s claims, describing them as “the highest form of self-deceit.”
