A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has dismissed reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have withdrawn support for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Speaking on Sunday during a campaign tour of communities in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Oyintiloye described the report as false and accused opposition elements of attempting to sow division within the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
He maintained that Tinubu and Oyetola remain fully committed to the party’s campaign and are providing the political leadership and strategic backing needed to secure victory.
According to him, suggestions that the President or Oyetola had abandoned Oyebamiji were deliberate misinformation aimed at misleading the public.
Oyintiloye said the APC remained united and focused on reclaiming Osun State, adding that both the national and state leadership of the party were working tirelessly towards that goal.
He also highlighted the contributions of prominent APC leaders in the state, including former governor Bisi Akande, National Secretary Ajibola Basiru and state chairman Tajudeen Lawal, describing them as actively involved in the campaign.
The APC chieftain urged party members across the state’s 30 local government areas and the Area Office to intensify grassroots mobilization by engaging voters and promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration, Oyetola’s record and Oyebamiji’s manifesto.
He further called on political actors to shun violence, intimidation and other acts capable of undermining the electoral process, insisting that campaigns should focus on issues and allow voters to make their choices freely in a peaceful atmosphere.
Oyintiloye expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship election, attributing the party’s optimism to the support of its leadership and stakeholders across the state.
