Emir of Zuru urges investments in food processing to reduce wastages

The Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammad Sani Sami (Rtd) has appealed to the federal and state governments to find an alternative of attracting investors in food processing in order to reduce wastages been experienced by the farmers in the country.
He stated this weekend at the closing ceremony of Zuru Uhola 2019, annual festival, lamented that quite a number of tree crops and vegetables such as mango, guava, cashew, tomatoes, pepper, and others are wasted or sold at give away prices during peak periods due to lack of processing facilities.
The royal father also stressed the need for government to extend its support to farmers engaged in small and medium scale production of crops like maize, guinea corn, soybeans, groundnut and beans.
Delivery his speech, the Kebbi State Governor who was represented by his, Deputy Alh Samaila Yombe Dabai mni (TAMBARIN ZURU) commended the efforts of the organizers of Uhola event while welcoming the guests that took their time and everything to grace the event.
The deputy governor appreciated the royal father for being a father to all and a custodian of culture, describing culture as the root of every people because it is a history that shows unique entity of every human being.
In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion and deputy Senate leader, Senator Bala Ibn Nallah said that Uhola is an important annual traditional festival of the people of Zuru Emirate.
